Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding planning break from hectic pop star life
Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has revealed she’s planning to take a break from being a pop star for a little while.
While she has no plans to quit the girl group, Sarah is quoted in the People newspaper as saying that she wants to take a good break next time the women have a clear spot in their calendar: “It’s all just getting too much for me so I am going to sell up my home and escape abroad.
“I want to see the world, go travelling for a bit to reflect and clear my head.”
But she added that she is also making plans for when the inevitable happens and the group decide to go their separate ways: “I’m going to enrol in acting classes again. I did that before the band started.”

ok but make sure your break does not interrupt with the aloudness anytime soon
Geri Halliwell wants to become a West End star. The former Spice Girls star is keen to make a move into musical theatre and would like to star in a play in London's famous theatre district.
She told friends: "I may now look at a musical role, too."
Geri - who initially left the Spice Girls in May 1998 to become a solo star - recently insisted her career as a solo artist is over.
The mother-of-one said: "I feel like I've hung up my hot pants now. I'll always try and be honest about myself. I've finished as a solo artist."
The 34-year-old - also known as Ginger Spice - believes the Spice Girls reunion tour, which ended in February, has brought the girls closer together.
Geri - who was joined on the road by Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Mel B - added: "I feel we are just like a family. We clicked again straight away - it's just like a family travelling in a bubble. I really enjoy our relationships. But I always wish I had left the group under better circumstances, rather than just walking out. But that's exactly why I wanted to do it again."

Geri, hun... You're one of my favorite people in the entire universe, but please stay away from theater. PLEASE.

Mel C refuses to drool over David Beckham's raunchy Emporio Armani adverts.
The Spice Girl, 34, reckons it would be disrespectful to bandmate Victoria to spend too much time studying his toned physique.
"I'd be very proud if my man looked like David Beckham," Mel confesses.
"But if I see a picture of David in his pants, I avert my eyes - it's my friend's husband, so it feels a bit wrong."

Reviews from broadwayworld.com:
"The first preview... was more amazing than I could have ever hoped. Although an avid fan of the cast album, I had never seen the show before, and the book was an absolute delight."
"Oh. My. God. The most amazing experience I have ever had in a broadway theater. Not just the wonder of the performances/material, but the amount of love and energy in the audience was just astounding. Everyone in the show was so fantastic. All in all, it was an amazing night."
"I was completely blown away by the performance. The cast performed brilliantly and faultlessly, bringing new, fresh material to the stage."

These reviews make me all the more excited to see [tos]! Are any of you ONTD Broadway-ers going to see it any time soon?

An American Institution Is Dead
As of 5:15 Pacific time, July 3rd, 2008, a treasured piece of Americana took a bullet to the head.
Most viewers don't know this yet. but that was the time, "The Price Is Right" wrapped the last show of its 36th season, and ended the classic show as we know it.
Don't misunderstand the message here. "TPIR" will continue into its 37th season. However, sweeping changes are in the air at Beverly and Fairfax. If what I hear is correct, the longest, continuously running, game show, and 9th longest- running entertainment show in history, is looking at the beginning of the end.
It seems, FremantleMedia, or at least Fremantle's Cecile Frot-Coutaz, known around Television City as "The Ice Queen", put forth an edict last year, that the Drew Carey edition of "Price" would have one season in its current format, and then all traces of the Bob Barker era, would be erased from the show.
First to be erased, "Price" Producer, Roger Dobkowitz, who was with the show from its premiere on CBS in 1972. Word from those behind the scenes is, that Frot-Coutaz wanted to take the show, "In a different direction". Dobkowitz got the boot, after the season's final show taped Wednesday.
The scuttlebutt is that, Fremantle, or at least Frot-Coutaz, wants to make "Price" look like Fremantle's mega hit, "American Idol." That means, a number of revisions which are yet unknown. What is virtually certain is, the look of the show will change dramatically. Gone, are the three sliding "Price" doors on stage. Gone, is contestant's row as we know it. Gone are turntables which rotated to reveal game boards and prizes. Gone is the general feel of the show which millions have come to know and love.
From what we hear, emcee Drew Carey, is not at all happy with the events of the last 72 hours, and apparently he's not the only person on the staff who isn't smiling. It seems the staffers are despondent over the firing of Dobkowitz, as well as the plans to perform elective surgery on the show.
We have also heard that Frot-Coutaz and Executive Producer Syd Vinnedge, took former host Bob Barker to lunch Thursday, to tell him the news. Evidently, Bob was furious when heard plans for the show which he built over the last three decades.

Well done, RTD. You've completely fucked my brain up to a level that even Joss was never able to achieve. Good on you.
Going to sleep now. If I can. [eta, 30 minutes later: nah, I'm instead reading post-"Journey's End" stories that are making me sob more than the episode itself did. It's kinda therapeutic, really.]

The honeymoon may be over, but Nick Cannon is enjoying the married life even more.
Although his wife Mariah Carey wasn't in Las Vegas with him, the "Wild 'N Out" host said his marriage to the singer is anything but rocky, despite Internet reports to the contrary.
At the opening of Las Vegas's Christian Audigier The Nightclub Friday, Cannon said his marriage is "amazing."
"It's the best thing that ever happened to me," Cannon, who was sporting his wedding band, told PEOPLE.
Arriving just before midnight, Cannon quickly made his way to the club's turntables where he began a two-hour set, spinning hip-hop, techno and rock.
At one point, he put on Shawty Lo's "Dey Know." Bobbing his head to the song, Cannon raised his hand high in the air and shouted the lyrics "Big ups, to all my haters."
Carey and Cannon met on the set of her video "Bye Bye," and after a whirlwind courtship tied the knot in May.

A smiling Britney Spears celebrated the Fourth of July with friends on a private boat in Marina Del Rey, CA over the weekend.
The pop star looked calm, cool and relaxed when photogs caught up to her as she puffed on cigarette after cigarette while engaging in a light-hearted conversation.
Meanwhile, comeback rumours are swirling again, but this time it’s in the form of a Madonna-collaborated video.
The Material Girl hitmaker is rumoured to be hooking up with Miss Spears in New York City tomorrow to record a video, which will be broadcast on big screens during her upcoming Sticky and Sweet tour.
What’s more? Madge has even invited Brit-Brit to join her onstage at some of her world tour dates.
A source tells The Sun, “They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show. And they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too. It’s hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self.”
Good luck, Madge. Miracles can happen!

Need U Bad (feat. Missy Elliott) - Jazmine Sullivan
Twenty one year old Philly native Jazmine Sullivan has been on the scene for a little while now and thanks to her “Need You Bad” single (one of my faves of the moment by the way) folks are starting to take notice. It’s produced by Missy and you can check the brand new video. Her sound brings me back to those fab mid 90’s Lauryn Hill days . Oh how I miss thee….
You can check out more about Jazmine and more of her songs over at her myspace page. Loves it.
SourceI've been listening to this song all night.
